ต่าง

ต่าง ๆ (promiscuous, miscellaneous, mixed, mingled, dissimilar, diverse), ต่างตาต่างใจ (substitution, a substitute, one who, or that which is substitued in place of another, to differ in opinion), ต่างประเทศ (a foreigner, an alien), ต่างว่า (for instance, to wit, thus, as if, used to introduce a result), ต่างหาก (separate, disconnected, detached, distinct), ต่างหูต่างตา (one empowered to act for another, a representative), หน้าต่าง (window), ต่างคนต่างมีความเห็น (each differing in opinion), ต่างคนต่างไป (each going indepently).

เขาต่างคนต่างไป They severally went their ways (They went their separate ways, Each went his separate way).

เราต่าง (ต่างคนต่าง) ก็มีงานที่ต้องทำ Each of us has a job to do (We each have a job to do). คู่แข่งขันต่างก็คุมเชิงกัน Each competitor watches the other (wathces the others ถ้ามีคู่แข่งขันมากกว่าสอง). เขามีนิสัยต่าง ๆ กัน They are of diverse characters. เขามาจากต่างถิ่น He came from a foreign land. วันใดวันหนึ่งเขาจะได้เป็นรัฐมนตรีว่าการต่างประเทศ One of these days he will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs (the Foreign Minister, the Foreign Secretary, the Secretary of State)).
